It is easy to get caught up in bad eating habits, and we all know the effect that fatty and unnatural foods have on our weight, but have you ever considered the impact that your food can have on your intestines?
When we eat, the food is broken down by acid in the stomach. Once it leaves the stomach, the food is broken down even further in the intestines, where nutrients are absorbed. It is inevitable that some of the fecal matter becomes stuck to the walls of the intestines. Sometimes, especially when one has a less-than-perfect diet, the intestines require a bit of help in clearing out the excess buildup of feces. Many people are unaware of this, as well as the negative impact it can have on one’s body causing various ailments. Constipation, hemorrhoids, and ulcerative colitis (Crohn Disease) are just a few of the problems caused by an unclean colon.
We all know what it’s like to be constipated once in a while, and I think it’s agreeable to say that it is a very unpleasant experience—one that can be avoided by regular colon cleansing. Another factor linked to build-up in the colon is obesity. If you think about how much fecal matter could build up in a person’s intestines by the age of 30, it would be reasonable to assume that several pounds of feces and undigested meat could be residing in the intestines! Obviously colon cleansing alone will not cure obesity; however it will, in conjunction with a healthy diet, help to reduce one’s weight and set them on a path to a much healthier body.
Other positive effects of colon cleansing are a noticeable increase in energy and clearer skin. Sluggishness and acne are just a few of the ways our body is trying to tell us that it’s struggling with toxins. And that’s exactly what toxins do—they’re toxic to the body and prevent it from functioning properly. Many of us understand what it’s like to feel sluggish, especially when we slack off on eating healthy diets, but our skin is also an important organ that our body uses to dispose of hazardous entities. When the body becomes too burdened with excess pollutants, it begins to push it through the skin’s pores, which results in acne and other topical sores such as boils.
It is recommended to treat yourself to a colon cleanse periodically, especially if you become fatigued, weak, develop muscle pain, or if you start gaining weight. There are many different products to choose from, but you may also find recipes to create your own cleanser. Regardless of the type of cleanser you choose, be a store-bought cleanser or home-made, there is usually a guideline to follow in regards to your diet for the duration of the cleanse. This diet usually consists of fresh fruit and vegetables—and any other natural, easy-to-digest foods. Be sure to drink plenty of water and take a probiotic or vitamin supplement as it is easy to become dehydrated during a cleanse.
Please keep in mind that it could be harmful if you use a colon cleansing agent too often. A steady, moderate usage is recommended for any colon cleanser, but do make sure that you follow all instructions included with your chosen cleanser or recipe, and if you have any questions, simply consult your doctor.
